Flight Sim 2000 Showcase

WELCOME TO the showcase of projects I am updating into FS2000 versions.

Previous versions of flight sim have operated using a very restrictive colour palette which is why sometimes the colour you see is different to the one the designer used in the pcx. past versions took colours it did not recognise and converted them into the nearest match.

Flightsim 2000 however has a much increased colour palette and allows the use of many more colours for use by painters. The technique of accessing these new colours was perfected by Ross Yeatman, and it is him I thank for sharing his knowledge with me.

The purpose of this page is to show you FS2000 projects in progress and previews of forthcoming FS2000 releases.

It is an exciting new era for painters, with access finally to a new range of colours and shades we can finally create the planes we have always dreamed of.

First project completed is the BA Gold project, the 737-400, G-BVNM. You can see how much nicer the tail texture looks compared with the FS98 version.

This is the same aircraft in FS98.

The Braathens 737-400 looks so much nicer with FS2000`s increased colours:

In progress for the Freeware Flight Group are some Douglas DC-9-30s:
