NATS AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER GRADUATION.
COURSES 101 & 102
While the ceremony was on the Friday,we all gathered on the Thursday to catch up,for some of us it was the first time we had seen some collegues in over 6 months.Dinner was taken in the hotel, and needless to say the bar was kept busy all night (and well into the next morning).
We surfaced on Friday morning, some of us feeling a little rough, for the actual ceremony.
Lloyd Brown, the College GM began with a speech before handing over to Bill Semple.During his speech he mentioned the tremendous support we received from our friends and families during the time we were at the College, which we all echoed. He also mentioned, that the 33 graduates present, came from an initial applicant pool of some 3,000 applications. In effect there is a 1% success rate from application to sitting where we were as ATC graduates.
Then Graham Marshall, the Student Liason Officer at the College, called us forward to receive the certificates.
After we had all been presented with them, there were 2 further awards for the Top Students of both courses. On course 101 the award went to Surjeet Deol, and on my course,I was fortunate enough to receive the award, which consisted of another certificate, and an engraved cut-glass beer pitcher.
Here I am receiving the award from Bill Semple.
