*******************CONGRATULATIONS*******************
A big well done to Alex Gibson at Aberdeen and especially to Graham Ward at Manchester, for their recent validations.
More great news, my good friend Tony Kirkbright has validated on Aberdeen Approach, one of the toughest Approach Radar units in Europe. Well done mate.

The picture was taken on our first day at the College of Air Traffic Control (CATC),at Bournemouth,England. We were all cadet controllers employed by National Air Traffic Services (NATS),who are the major provider of Air Traffic Control in the UK.NATS presently provides Area Control at all the UK`s centres-London,Scottish and Manchester. In addition NATS provides Aerodrome and Approach Radar control at the following airfields:
Aberdeen,Glasgow,Edinburgh,Belfast Aldergrove,Cardiff,Manchester,Birmingham,Farnborough, London City,London Stansted,London Gatwick and London Heathrow.
NATS are the World leader in ATC,and the College trains ATC students from all over the World-it is widely recognised as the premier ATC training college in the World. NATS cadets all go through Aerodrome 1,Aerodrome 2,and Radar skills courses, before specialising in either Approach Radar or Area control.Area students do Area 1 and Area 2-Area 1 being a procedural control course, and Area 2, the Radar course.
After I successfully completed the College training I began my operational duties at LATCC on 5th October 1998.I still have to continue training in order to validate (which will mean I am competent enought to work on my own, without a mentor).
This is my most treasured possession,my Air Traffic Controllers license.I now have 3 unvalidated ratings-Aerodrome,Area (Procedural)? (Do we still get this one?) and Area (Radar).
