Flight Unlimited II

Here are the instructions for running the Benchmarks on Flight Unlimited II

1. Start FUII
2. Click on Options/Graphic Settings.  Set the following:
    Sun/moon Glare: on
    Prospective Correction: on
    Cirrus Cloud Effects: on
    Distance Clipping: high (to the right)
    Terrain Detail: high (to the right)
    Video Resolution: 1024x768 is preffered, run others if you like
    Lightning effects: on
    Select the appropriate driver for your 3D hardware (or select the Primary Display Driver for 2D tests).
    Click Accept
3. Click on Quick Flight.  Set the following:
    Haze: 20 miles
    Fog: off
    Time of Day: Day
    Cloud Cover: clear
    Fuel: full
    Cloud Ceiling: 3000-5000 feet
    Wind Speed: calm
    Rain: none
    Airplane: select the trainer
4. Test 1:
    Click on the top center of the screen (brings up the map)
        Click somewhere out in the ocean, select 5000 feet.
        Click on the tower symbol
    Click on Fly
    press F5, then press Ctrl-F (to display the frame rate)
    Record the frame rate (as best you can, determine the average).   This is FSB1.
    Press Esc.
5. Test 2:
    Click on the top center of the screen, to go to the map.
    Click on the yellow area at the bottom right of the map, select 5000 feet.
    Click on the tower symbol.
    Click on Fly.
    Record the frame rate.  This is FSB2.
    Press Esc.
6. Test 3:
    Set the following options:
        Haze: 5 miles
        Rain: Heavy
    Click on the top center, to get the map.
        Click on South County airport (the pink symbol at the bottom right of the map).
        Select Final, runway 32.
        Click on the tower symbol.
    Click on Fly.
    Press F2 to get the cockpit view.  Record the frame rate.   This is FSB3.
7. Exit FUII.
8. Calculate FSB, the average of FSB1, FSB2 and FSB3.
9. Go to the FSBench site, and submit your Report using the Report System.
