Intel i740. This chip will sell for less than the Riva128 chips, and will likely be slightly slower. Supports all the features of the Voodoo and Riva128 chipsets. Like the Riva, this chip runs best using AGP, with all textures stored in system RAM. It currently sells as a 4 MB board for $190, and 8 MB for $230, in PCI and AGP versions.
Real 3D today announced price reductions for its award-winning StarFighterTM family of graphics accelerator boards.
Manufacturer's suggested list price for the REAL 3D StarFighter AGP 4MB board is now US$129.00 while the list price for the REAL 3D StarFighter AGP 8MB board starts at US$149.00.
The REAL 3D StarFighter PCI board will be available in late May and carry a list price starting at $289.00 for the 16MB board (8MB frame buffer, 8MB local texture) and $349.00 for the 24MB board (8MB frame buffer, 16MB local texture).
The Real 3D StarFighter boards are powered by the Intel740TM graphics chip, which Real 3D co-developed with Intel. Real 3D offers the industry's only Intel740-based PCI board.
