Rendition Vérité 2200/2100 07 Jul 1998
I've combined the data for both the V2200 and the V2100 here. Looks to be a very good chipset, but the V2200 is slow in development. Unless Rendition does some pretty fancy footwork, this good chipset might get lost in the flood of other good chipsets comming out. It's compatible with Verite1000-compiled games, but not Glide-based games.
There have been observed in other games a peculiarity with the V2100 chipset: the frame rate stays the same no matter what screen resolution you use. This is probably because the chipset does so much of the 3D setup and processing. This ability to do 3D setup may mean that the Stealth II (V2100) is the board of choice for systems with slower CPU's. The frame rate, is, fortunately, on par with the Voodoo and Riva128 chipsets, so it looks like, initially, the Stealth II (at about $100 with promotional discounts) is a very good deal for a 2D/3D card.
