X-Plane Benchmark beta test 1 (for version 5.54)
Instructions:
1. Download this Situation file : Boxcar KCGX R36.sit
2. Save it in your Situation folder of X-Plane. (under System Resources)
3. This file will set the proper settings:
- time is around noon;
- airport is KCGX ( Chicago Merrill C Meigs);
- runway is 36;
- winds is from the north at 15 knots;
- clouds are broken and at 1000 msl;
- Real-Weather should be off;
here's a picture:
You should change to a resolution that you want to test: in this case, it was
1600x1200.
That is the only setting that should be changed.
4. When you're all set, go to "Settings" under
"Data Output" and check Disk File X-Plane.Out
for the first item listed on the leftmost part: Frame rate,
time ratio. Here's a picture:
A record of your frame rates will be recorded in that
file: X-Plane.out
6. Just sit on the runway in cockpit view and wait about 30 secs.
7. When you are done, go to "Set Data Output" and uncheck "Disk file X-Plane.Out"
9. Quit X-Plane, go into your X-plane folder and open up
the X-Plane.Out file. Copy the last section of the file relating to frame rates.
Paste it into a Spreadsheet, add them all up and average them
by dividing with the number of instances.
10. That number should be put in the report. You don't need to use the fsb1,2 or 3. You already have a very good average number.
Try it and tell me what you think.
