Landing Technique with all Aircraft

The correct way to land an aircraft is on the body wheels first.
If you land on the nose wheel first it will eventually collapse as it is weakened.
Ideally with airliners you should fly an approach at 170 knots initially, with flaps 5 degrees Air Traffic Control like the pilot's to keep at least 160 knots until they reach the the outer marker. If there is not one then its until they reach 4 DME from the runway threshold. Then reduce speed to about 150 knots until you are over the runway threshold.Start lowering flaps and landing gear when you capture the glidepath. At 20 ft above the runway pull the nose up slightly and kill the power.
It is said a good landing is made from making a good approach. Concentrate on getting your speeds and rate of descent right. As a rough guide at an approach speed of 160 knots you should be descending vertically at 850 ft per minute.
Watch the Landing approach lights to the left of the runway for clues and the ILS Glide scope Needle.

2 Reds & 2 white lights is what you want
3 or 4 Red lights you are too low
3 or 4 white lights you are too high
