The school started originally with British Airways Virtual where Geoff along with Stephen Ellis founded that Virtual Airline. Geoff was approached by AVSIM Education Resources,  and was very pleased to put the school on the AVSIM server for the benefit of all.

All Virtual Airlines and Pilots are most welcome to use my  Flight School just feel free to link it or save it in your favorites folder you do not have to subscribe its all free,

Course Content

I am an ex real world United Kingdom Pilot's Licence Holder. I intend to guide you in simple terms, how to fly a Light Aircraft. We then move you on to flying an airliner in the Virtual World. I will teach you some  Basic Air Law and the Procedure Requirements, that pilots need to know. This course will add the bits the manuals left out, and expand on what has already been written.

We then study Real World Airline Operations and how the Airline Pilot works. We also discuss weather and what pilots are looking for that might endanger the flight. This will give you a good idea and enable you to join a virtual airline should you wish or be an experienced computer flight sim pilot.

We later will discuss Air Traffic Control and how the pilots and Controllers operate together. I will teach you how real pilots fly the Atlantic Ocean. How to land in bad weather with a low cloud base and poor visibility. Plus  the rules how airliners and light aircraft stay apart from each other in the real world.

The training program is going to be as jargon free as possible. It has been deliberately kept simple, and not too technical, so people of all ages can understand it.

At the end of the course you will be able to join any Virtual Airline in a confident position to fly and live out your dreams and ambitions to be an Airline Pilot.

Or  you may want to  just become a Safe Light Aircraft Flying Club Pilot.

If you are looking for a Virtual Airline I run one of those as well. See the link above.

The school has basically four sections. it is suggested that you start in Private Pilots level then work your way across from left to right. The Commercial Pilots Level has much more detail than the button suggests it includes Radio Navigation. Do visit in there.

If you do not understand something please feel free to drop me a line. I hope you enjoy this school. I cannot tell you much about computers IE what graphics card etc ? but I will do my best to answer your flying questions. Even I am still learning.

This course is a guide only and proper flight training must be obtained before attempting to fly in the real world. The course is done for interest only. It is so you can appreciate what is involved in the real world of flying. Hopefully now you can simulate this with your PC

Whilst the school was written initially for earlier versions of flight simulator, much of the procedures are identical for FS2004 and FSX , especially the radio navigation. There are many add on aircraft now,  it is therefore impossible to deal with everyone in detail. (But the principles remain the same .)

Yours sincerely

Please note this school was designed in 2000 for helping flight sim enthusiasts get to grips with flying Microsoft Fight Simulator. The items are a guide only, therefore  some of them maybe out of date with regard to regulations etc. I am going to gradually update the school this year to help you.  As you can see this is a mammoth task ahead of me. Some extra articles concerning airline operations can be found at my virtual airline website by clicking then Airline Pilot Study Course. .
