Geoff Butler's Microsoft Flight Simulator Flight School Brings real world and virtual world together. Plenty of tips and information for you to help you and its free |
Hi from Geoff Butler and Welcome to my Flight School A BIT ABOUT ME AND MY ACHIEVEMENTS Originally I was a Paratrooper in the British Army, I was keen on skydiving. One day my brother in law took me for a pleasure flight in his light aircraft. (He is also an Airline Pilot.) He said "You can land this aircraft I will show you." I made three landing attempts this day and on the third one I made a landing. The first one was a bounce the second an arrival the third a landing. That was it I was hooked from the third landing onwards. Skydiving went out the window. I learned to fly in 1986 at Biggin Hill in England. I have been interested in Commercial Flying and Air Traffic Control ever since. I have studied aviation in depth. I started Flightsimming with the first version of Flight Simulator. I got involved with Virtual Airlines in 2000 when I along with Stephen Ellis set up British Airways Virtual I designed the timetable and the rank structure. My first success story on the internet. I designed and wrote the Flight School for British Airways Virtual originally but it got bigger and people wanted more and more. Hence the result you see. Being interested in Holiday Charter Airlines I
launched Britannia Airways Virtual which I now run. We have had to change the name recently to
Britannic British Charter Airlines. (More below on this) My aim is to raise the standards of knowledge and training in the Virtual flying world. This is so people can enjoy their hobby that much more. This school is where flight sim manuals left off and people want to start to know more and have difficulty in finding all the information easily if at all.
AVSIM one of the biggest websites on the internet asked me if I would like to become involved in the Education Resources Centre. Hence this school has been designed for all pilots whether it be a flying club pilot or a Virtual Airline Pilot. I have attempted to give you a general study of both sides so that you can enjoy the Flight Sim hobby that much more. I hope you like it. I live in England so for obvious reasons most of the school is UK Europe orientated. Flying is pretty standard world wide each country having minor deviations to fit in with their own system. Most procedures are International Standard in any case. Do visit the other sites in the AVSIM Education Centre my colleagues have done some excellent work for you. Yours sincerely Geoff Butler Click on the aircraft to fly to my Virtual Airline If you have never seen a Virtual Airline then please have a browse round my Virtual Airline. There are hundreds on the internet now. I have a link page elsewhere in the school, if you want to pick one nearer to your home. Click on the aircraft to visit my VA.
