NZ Hueys

No 3 Squadron RNZAF has operated UH1D/H Iroquois (Hueys) since 1965 in a variety of roles, locations and paint schemes. The original jungle camouflage scheme and a couple of the more interesting variants are included in this package.

The white paint scheme represents the United Nations white applied to the 2 aircraft hired from the US Government and operated by a 3 Sqn detachment as part of a joint Australian/NZ air support unit operating in the Sinai Peninsular as part of the Multi-National Force between 1982 and 1986. The aircraft retained their US Army tail numbers, but carried the MNF logo on the main doors and the NZ National markings on the forward end of the tail boom.

The International Rescue Orange scheme as depicted was applied to the three aircraft which operated in Bougainville as part of the Truce Monitoring Group in 1997/98. A similar colour scheme had been used earlier for aircraft deployed to the Antarctic in conjunction with US Naval Support Forces Antarctica in support of American and New Zealand scientists working in the Antarctic. The earlier scheme included a broad yellow band around the aft end of the tail boom.

The Hueys98 package is a self-extracting zip file based on JimGoldman's HueyAA98 package containg the .air and .mdl file and the texture files for:
Jim's Air America UH1D linked to the panel.cfg file for his LHS panel,
My NZ Camouflage UH1D/H linked to the panel.cfg file for my panel,
My NZ White UH1D linked to the panel.cfg file for my panel,
My NZ Orange UH1H linked to the panel.cfg file for my panel,
The left hand seat panel.cfg file and .gau files for several new gauges provided by Jim,
The right hand seat panel.cfg file plus several Huey_*.gau files which I built for it.

The total package is fairly large (1,726KB) so a high speed modem is a distinct advantage. To install it download the compressed archive file (Hueys98.zip) into your normal download directory and then extract it to your FS98 root directory (the one which contains fltsim98.exe) using WinZip (or equivalent) set to "Use Folder Names" and it will automatically extract all the files to the appropriate folders. Once the file has been extracted take your Hueys for a test spin to check everything installed correctly. If you already have HueyAA98 in your aircraft folder delete this folder so you do not keep getting 2 Air America Hueys on your aircraft roster.
