What are the chances of the NGX being out by Fathers Day?

Recommended Posts

Small chance, because I'm not a father. Just an 18 years old pupil =) Nevertheless, it would be awezome.

That might not work out so well. Not exactly a Hallmark card kind of Father's Day with Dad spending the entire day in front of the computer. In the interest of family harmony, perhaps we could compromise and hope for a Father's Day release -- after supper.

Buy it for your father, but really for yourself!

A little more attention to detail and everybody asking these questions would have noticed this line in RSRs last announcement:"...so we have a few more weeks at least."While I'll be there with my credit card the day this thing is released I think we should all realise that the noise being made about the NGX at the moment has nothing to do with where it is in development terms and everything to do with the recent iFly release.

I would just ask that you don't release it this weekend please. I'm getting married this Sunday, and as I know flight simulation will eventually be the source/cause of a few "discussions" in the future, I'd rather just pin it on the hobby as a whole and leave PMDG out of the argument completely.Of course midlife crisis coming up in couple years, so can't wait to see her face when "honey, what do you think about buying a Skylane?"

If it doesn't come out by Sunday Dan, I won't know what to get you for a wedding gift.

You understood the whole thing mate..... All the current buzz is MKG/ COM to keep PMDG alive vs. the iFly release, nothing else !

too much, too soon....

Yeah! Maybe before Fathers day isnt such a bad estimation......if you think of the swedish fathers day (and Norways, Finlands, Icelands and Estonias as well), which occurs on the second Sunday of November... :D

That is a more likely bet, but I'm assuming he meant the US Father's Day on 19th June.Big%20Grin.gif

It would be an awesome Fathers day gift, problem is our spouces would never see us.Michael Pare.
Keep in mind that Boeing has cooperated with PMDG on real 737 data for the flight manuals. RSR has stated that he could have released the 737NGX earlier but wanted to present us with as cleanest product as possible. This is admirable and is reflected of his high standards. He has stated that the amount of amperage used has been modeled accurately out to 1/1000th of an amp, based on the airplane's certification data. He has said that The hydraulic Electric Motor Driven Pump (EMDP) consumes 7.824 amps of energy while running. But, if fails or is shut down, the energy consumption increases by 4.3amps to a total of 12.124 amps. This is remarkable detail but I think would be ignored by most of us. I have 3500 hours over a ten year period of Commercial flying and this probalbly would have gone by me. (yeah, I know, I should pay more attention)My point is that besides giving their customers that best product they can offer, they have to impress Boeing with their accuracy of detail because the enginneers and the brains that make decisions are watching this outcome and who knows, this might lead to more lucrative opportunites with Boeing...pilot training with PMDG products, etc. So I would expect them to take as long as they want to turn out an impressive product.I may be wrong, and if I am, just chalk it up to pre-release silly conjecture.Jack Hancock

A few more weeks is probably going to really mean a few more months, anything sooner is a bonus.
