dual or tri channel ram?

Recommended Posts

Hey folks,

Just a quick question,

I seen somewhere yesterday that tri channel (triple - whatever) is better for fsx than dual channel, i cant link the source because i cant remember where i seen it, im sure it also said that tri-channel ram was excellent for the i7(it was an fsx related topic i had read)

The z77 mobos ive been looking at (asrock extreme 6 and the p8z77 pro) both of which say "dual channel" in the description,

So how does this work then? can i still put in 3X2g sticks of tri channel or with the board do i have to stick to dual channel?

Also i recently asked but it was overlooked, - has the forum been changed recently as i cant see the post topics unless i go into the post to read it.

Regards

Paul
