Short routes

Recommended Posts

even shorter routes can be found in the middle east and gulf region. since 10 days or so i was on a 777 flight from OEJN to OERK this is a frequent and short flight (75 min) between these 2 cities. add to that flights between OERK-OMDB, OERK-OKBK , OMDB-OKBK, OEJN-HECA, OEJN-OLBA etc....

30 mins - CYYZ CYUL Air Canada.  It's leg 1 from YYZ to CDG.

3 hours or so - CYYZ CYVR.  Leg 1 from Toronto to Sydney or Asia.

Define short.  These legs are everywhere.

I don't remember the airline (maybe United) that flew me from KDEN to KORD during the summer of 2012. This was actually the first time I flew anywhere stateside since the 1990's in anything other than a 737 variant, so I thought it was a unique experience. I remember the kids looking out the window and being fascinated by how high we were compared to the 737's we were used to. Flight was maybe 1 hour 30 minutes.

Most small routes are done by -200er or -300 models you can replace the models though. Company's dont buy or for small routes the aircraft is more expensive then er's

Thai periodically does BKK - HKT with an ER. I know because I've been on it a few times. I've also deadheaded on Cathay from HKG - BKK on a 200ER.

There's plenty of short routes in Asia, but the US airlines love flying RJs on routes Asian airlines would have a 777 or 744 on.

Uhhhh don't get me started on the US airlines.
