Could be either I guess, choice or no choice. But with the capability to travel at significant relativistic velocities they would have encountered many planets they could call home by now and have found their home I would have thought. And we evolved to be perfectly suited to this world. Likely an alien species would have diferent requirements. 

The other point worth mentioning is that if they had developed some kind of Alcubierre warp drive there would be no time dilation.

Who examined the trees? Somebody biased in favour of the UFO explanation for example? Or an independent scientific investigation? UFO investigators themselves regard his claims as a hoax.

I’m not sure, I can’t remember who they said they were who investigated the trees, it’s at the end of the film which is interesting if you get a chance to watch it. One thing I did think was quite convenient was that the exact location of the landing site was being kept a secret.

The Netflix series unsolved mysteries- the Berkshire UFO episode is also an interesting story.

I’d like nothing more than this whole phenomenon to be proven as a giant hoax and the only aliens were those in Hollywood , but regrettably I don’t think that’s the case.

Its a mystery that's been around for a very long time.  Long enough for you not to worry. The asteroids are jam packed with all manner of resources and it looks like there are plenty of inhabitable worlds out there. If there is another technologically advanced species around at the same time as us, and they haven't destroyed themselves, and they have mastered interstellar travel... there's plenty of planets out there for them to inhabit. They will have mastered engineering on the atomic scale too, so will be able to create whatever materials they need from basic atoms, so probably wouldn't need to mine anything.

Observing, like our scientists observe, is the most likely motive if the alien hypothesis is true. Most likely with unmanned probes.

I wonder what they eat?  Could it be that they just stop here to replenish their stores and look at other things like aircraft and ships at sea as mere curiosities to toy with?

I keep an open mind on the subject of UFOs, but I would like to point out that the mind of Phillip J Klass was closed to the point of being triple padlocked. Not the kind of person I would want when conducting a scientific investigation.

This is a railfan video but at 23:52 the camera catches a UFO circling a cloud at a great rate of speed.  Much faster than any known aircraft.  They call it lightning, but I know that's just a coverup.

Still, with the pancakes, I suppose that would constitute a balanced diet.

They must get the cow parts fresh from somewhere. I think any self-respecting replicator would refuse to make them.

I'll  truly believe they are aliens when they begin to sell us seemingly wonderful artifacts. Pohl Anderson had 2 or 3 volumes in his series 'Trader to the Stars' and Han Solo was a similar character. I wonder how much he paid Wookie for services.
