Sim Update 11 beta will begin October 12

There is definitely some addon crashing the sim for me, and it's not a Carenado plane. Now to the hard work of finding the culprit (same happened with Su10 beta). Disabled half my addons and the sim didn't crash, guess I'm getting closer.

I just found out after a lot of testing that Henrik Nielsen's global ships causes a CTD while loading a flight. Every time. Unfortunately.

Guys, I'm getting very good DX12 performance on the ground at Asobo's KLAX. Everything vanilla. Silky smooth. This is with the latest game ready driver which promised "significant DirectX 12 performance optimizations which can dramatically improve performance for GeForce 30 Series GPUs."

Some people on MSFS forum are saying the sim will load and work properly if certain folders of addons are removed from Official. Others have said they can run the sim with those same folders installed.

Oh, I've been thinking 'bout my life
What's been wrong and what's been right
Some say that, some say this
Some say no, some say yes
Alright, alright, alright
Alright, alright, alright
Oh, I don't know what's going on
But I know what's right from wrong
Too many heads and too many minds
Too many wrongs and too many rights
Alright, alright, alright
Alright, alright, alright
I hear you talking, alright, alright, alright
I hear you talking, alright, alright, alright

Could be.. just got another one around 50Mb. I deleted a lot of Asobo airports as I have payware versions.

EDIT: But it's not that. None of the airports that I deleted are back. Version number have not changed. Hmmm.

Some initial reports on the official forums about weather and how it impacts aircraft, turbulence, etc.

https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/cfd-is-amazing/549365/35?u=lwtxb
"Something good has changed in SU11, winds, turbulence, CFD, look I don’t want to say that it’s placebo effect but I just flew PAGY/PAHN/PAOH, and for the first time my C310 got stuck in very severe turbulence in clouds that the speed dropped to 80kt, 3000/4000 ft updraft, it stalled and I was able to recover 3000 ft below, it is the very first time that I got “scared” to crash in MSFS2020 due to the weather! I was surprised that I took my smarphone and did try to film what happened on front of my eyes! (I’ll share it later). I know that the weather is not the topic here but it looks the impact of the winds/gust etc works so much better the way it affects the envelop of the bird."

https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/cfd-is-amazing/549365/27?u=lwtxb
"They definitely do downdraft though it seems the thermal visualisation only shows rising air movement. I flew a glider between two nearby strong thermals with a fairly stiff breeze blowing and I got caught in a major downdraft in between. Not sure how realistic but its pretty cool, turbulence seems more controlled as well and only occurs as you fly though the thermal variations. I noticed my wing lifting on one side generally as I flew along the boundary of a thermal."

https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/guide-testing-the-new-airflow-visualization/549454/2?u=lwtxb
"I was soaring around and got a nice bit of lift over a town which turned into a deep sink enroute to the next one. Ended up pretty close to the ground before a strong thermal over a car park saved my flight. Turbulence in general seems less artificial and you can feel your wing dip and rise as you cross the thermal boundaries. It’s really cool."

Yeah, just narrowed it down to that one also, it's GAIST V2. I disabled it and no crashes or freezes in 3 flights. Hope he fixes it soon, love that addon.

Just a FYI

You can NOT opt out of SU11 beta and go back to SU10 without a complete reinstall even if you have it installed in a custom path. It creates a big problem with the world map by opting out. You either have to reinstall or just opt back in and suck up SU11 until final.

This issue lies, unfortunately, squarely in NVidia's corner. The DLSS API does not presently have any way to "mask" off areas that you don't want to apply DLSS to, and because there is no possible technical way to generate motion vectors for 2D glass instrument textures, this is the result.

The MSFS team is in communication with NVidia about this issue, but whether or not they decide to implement it is going to be up to them.

This is precisely the issue.  The way the technology works is it renders everything at a lower resolution and then uses neural networks to upscale the entire image.

At present, you can't say "please leave this square over here alone", it's just not the way it works.

It's completely not a Microsoft / Flight Simulator bug, it's just the way DLSS works.

FSR is the AMD version of DLSS. You will not see it with your nVidia card.

This is wrong.

It's actually the other way around.
