According to Asobo's Development Roadmap, you're exactly right. I can't wait to try to land the Antonov at Meigs Field. 🙂

Someone remind me. Is the Antonov a free release or a paid release?

If I recall correctly it will be payware, but the earnings go to support a good cause.

Really looking forward to this.  An opportunity to fly this unique beast and support a good cause at the same time, count me in.  I just bought Pyreegue’s UKBB to act as the home base for the AN225.

I was working on Antonov company and witnessed first flight of An-225. I also remember there was contest among employees to come up to the best name for a new airplane. There were a lot of good suggestions but general designer Balabuev liked name “dream”.

Anyway. there were two An-225 built as far as I remember . When Soviet Union collapsed one An-225 remained unfinished . So if Antonov company rebuild Mriya there could use unfinished aircraft plus salvaged parts what from destroyed one. Plus engines and avionic could be come up straight from western companies !

In any case money will go to the good cause one or another.

The first flight consisted repositioning aircraft from Anonov factory in Kyev to Antonov test base in Hostomel.

The AN-225 were built by the Soviets as a transporter for the Buran shuttle.  With the collapse of the Soviet Union the Buran shuttle project was cancelled and there was no need at the time to finish the second AN-225.
