I may pass on this PMDG aircraft I usually do flights that at are most about 1 3/4 hours . Not a typical route for a 777.

Fair enough a good route would be RJAA to ZSPD tho due to good 3rd party airports and nice scenery (Mt Fuji)/weather to fly around.

I'm more interested in the MAX myself I'm sure you're the same?

According to  Mathjis the 777 will come with a Special Time Compression for those who don’t want to do long flights.

Not typical, but plenty of short-haul flights using the 777 exist, mainly in Asia.

Also: https://simpleflying.com/shortest-boeing-777-flights-guide/

A surprising number of 1, 2, and 3 hour flights!

Just goes to show it's really about moving lots of bodies and not always about moving them long haul.

All I really care about for routes is whether the runways are long enough 😃

But there's quite a few good ideas in here I wouldn't have otherwise thought of. Gonna dig in...

PMDG has long had the best auto time compression system, generally reverting to 1x time compression for turns or other things that could make the aircraft unstable.  Even if they just use the same one in the 737, it can reliably make very long flights quote short.

This is one thing I wish all other devs would take and implement in their own aircraft (especially looking at you INI Builds!).  I've never had a PMDG flight fail (ie fall out of the sky or otherwise crash) due to using the auto time compression system.

Any body read or heard if the CDU can be connected to a tablet (ala FBW A320) which makes entering data into the CDU easy?

I fly with A Pilots Lifer, so can't use time compression.

Anyone fancy guessing the price?

I'll go for £60.

I think it will be a little more than the 737's so I'm guessing $77.30

Time compression is a waste of time just do shorter routes. Its flight sim and not the real world after all.

Thats exactly the benefit of a flightsim, not to waste time with long flights but condense them to the interesting phases with time compression. ☝️

Or do you think, real pilots do 10 hour flights in the airlines training sims? 😄

Who wants to sit back and watch a High Fidelity 777 by PMDG fly like the speed of a Concorde. Makes no sense not to me anyways. I'd rather fly flights from KLAX to KLAS or EGLL to EGCC rather than doing a 10hr flight at warp 4 speed. That is a fake of a long haul anyone could imagine.
