  1. Right - those are two of my favorite addons! One of my goals with MSFS2020 was to avoid all the addons and I didn't do too well with that. I'm hoping that I can do better with 2024. I know that charts are supposed to be included as well. But I can't imagine that they will match up with Navigraph. But if they are close....we'll see!
  2. I wonder if the seasons in MSFS24 will make this obsolete or not. I kind of hope so although I mean no harm to Rex. It would be just one less thing to mess with outside the sim.
  3. I think that I saw somewhere that MSFS24 would include a PC-12? Maybe I'm hallucinating again (grew up in the 60s). If that's the case, I'd guess it would be the Carenado version.
  4. I have both but feel the same way. I thought for sure it would be a big improvement over the Carenado. It's one of the few purchases that I really regret. Like you said, maybe it's me. But, I don't like it.
  5. I seem to remember that MSFS was discussing some sort of in-sim method of uploading and downloading community addons. But, as far as I know, that wasn't discussed at FSExpo. I wonder if it is still in the works. It would be handy to have.
  6. This is not my usual type of plane to fly but I might get it just because of all the fun MicroProse gave me going back to the 80s!
  7. The incorporation of so much from the community (PuffinFlight, GAIST, Fabio, AIG, etc.) along with adding a better planner with charts and a true replay function is really exciting. I wonder if there will be a need for Navigraph?
  8. Good question - I think that will come in the future. Like BATC, it's still early access. I haven't asked for anything crazy yet but I've always gotten what I asked for.
  9. No co-pilot. The developer feels that it doesn't make sense to have AI talking to AI. Although, due to workload sometimes, it would come in handy.
  10. The only trouble with scripted AI is that it doesn't always understand you or let you ask whatever you want. For instance, in SI just now, I asked ground to park by the hanger near the bravo taxiway and they understood that and let me do it. I made a flight with BATC the other day and there was a lot that I couldn't say and what I did say had to be the way that they expected it. Now, that's OK. BATC is great and a major step forward. But personally, I like the more real interaction of non-scripted AI.
  11. I wanted to like it but the panel is too "cartoonish" for me. It looks like many of the FSX panels rather that something for MSFS.
  12. True - many of us have that built-in bias from the old days that the default aircraft were not very good. That has changed quite a bit with MSFS.
  13. It might be usable but I can't see them matching some of the new options out there like SayIntentions or BATC. But, with the number of people working on 2024, who knows!
  14. Yup - the current version is great for me and I'm expecting more of an incremental change rather than a game-changer. Nevertheless, I will be getting it on day one!
  15. Yeah, when I lived in Chicago, I would think that way. Now that I live in Florida, November means that it will get cooler and hurricane season is over.
  16. As November is not that far away, I was thinking of what needs to be done to make the transition to a new sim. Specifically, I'm thinking about what needs to be done with the current community folder and all the stuff that is in there currently. I use AIG so there will be some stuff that needs to be moved or pointed to the new installation. I guess hardware controls and buttons will need to be re-mapped as well. Anyone else thinking about this kind of stuff yet?
  17. I have avoided purchases because of that system!
  18. Right and I've had a VATSIM id for ages and it can be amazing. But, I really like the "all-in-one solution" of the ATC programs, with traffic and ATC coverage at every airport 24/7.
  19. My situation makes my wife think that I'm crazy when I'm talking to my computer!
  20. Right - if you don't want you use your voice, then FSHud is the best option at this point. I surprised myself in that, once I started talking, the "immersion factor" increased exponentially over pointing and clicking.
  21. Once I tried BATC, I couldn't go back to FSHud even with its traffic. Then I tried SI and it was so much more "real" than either of them. BATC is very good but it just seemed like the responses were on rails which, to some degree they are as SI is AI-driven in both directions: pilot and ATC. The good news is that a price drop will be announced at the upcoming FSExpo. Since I already bought BATC, I'm using it for flights where I really need the help of a co-pilot and SI is used for everything else.
