  1. ANA 1: KIAD - RJAA Still operated by the 77W, and with Fligtbeam KIAD and Wing Creation Narita, you are in for quite a ride.
  2. All I know is that when it does come out, its [one of] the first thing im flying on my new Z97-i7 rig.
  3. Thanks for all the suggestions so far. At this point (if I stick with the laptop) then the 1TB HDD will be changed to an SSD. There is a higher CPU option that offers 3.00GHz Max Turbo 3.9GHz, however it's an additional $536, which will blow through my budget. Sadly in this model there is only one option for the GPU and that's the GTX 765M. I may mess around with the desktop configurations on CyberPC to see what projected cost could be in that range.
  4. Yeah the initial idea was to get the laptop because I would want to use it for FS and for college work. I still have a 2011 MacBook Pro that runs pretty well that I could use for that so a desktop is not completely out of the question.
  5. Okay, so assuming that I put the settings in FSX near their maximum setting, how many FPS would you guess I could get out of it? As I mainly fly vatsim the AI traffic would be disabled so what do we think then?
  6. Hi I'm looking into a better computer, most likely a gaming or high performance laptop, to hopefully max out FSX. I'm looking into one from CyberPower PC. The specs are below: Intel® Core™ i7-4900MQ Mobile Processor 2.80 GHz 8M Smart Cache, Max Turbo Freq. 3.80 GHz Mobile Intel HM87 Express Chipset Mainboard (Motherboard) 16GB DDR3 RAM (2x 8GB) GTX 765M 2GB 1TB 7200RPM SATA 300 Hard Drive A link to the configuration: http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/saved/1FW2U6 Any thoughts on how this would perform? What specs might need to be changed? I also plan to run REX, GSX, CS, PMDG, etc. Any help is appreciated
  7. I havent performed the update myself, but I would recommend fully uninstalling and just installing the SP3 full installer just to be safe. The QWPAS safety announcement only plays under certain conditions. The big one being you have to be at least 3000ft from the selected departure runway threshold. http://qwsim.flight1.net/forums/qualitywings-video-tutorial-qwpas-initialization_topic12.html The above link has a link to a video tutorial on QWPAS and lists the conditions that have to be met to get each of the announcements to play. Also if you read the manual to the aircraft you will find a point in there where it says how you can load up the aircraft Cold and Dark without having to do what you just described. Hope this helps
  8. That was the first thing I checked, and I believe it still occurred with the Pitot Heat switched ON [always have switched it on, never forgotten (on my checklists)]. If that is the case maybe I have to change the pitot heat configuration with the aircraft [it's only happened on my freeware Airbuses]? However, I could easily be mistaken [last time it happened was Saturday and I don't remember checking], because it has often occurred during times when I'm trying to record a quick segment and don't want to mess with much to get done ASAP. This is what I was doing last time it happened. One time that it happened, It was a IFR flight from OTP to CDG [Freeware Air France 320] and on approach it would think 0 then recover, then think 0 again. Caused me 2 GA's because the throttles increasing messed up glide-slope.One last thing, just wondering if turning the Pitot Heat on IN AIR would still work or no effect? It didn't ever occur to me that FSX sims the Pitot's freezing over [realism settings?]
  9. A follow up with replies by Venustus and Rafal regarding an Airbus sim, I read a couple of things on Airbus X and Aerosoft said that the FSX spoilers for example, work like a Boeing and they haven't found a way to simulate the Airbus spoilers without that one glitch. I think there is a couple other things in the programing of FSX that make sims more a boeing sim than anything else. If they do manage to avoid or conquer that obstacle though, I will do everything I can to get my hands on the advanced pkge.
  10. HiA few times on my sim recently, I've experienced a glitch (particularly in default Airbus cockpit of Thomas Ruth models and default A321), where the aircraft is flying usually on approach (once or twice at cruising alt. as well) and the speed just drops to 0 knots without reason. I have checked the backup gauge in the cockpit and info from Shift + Z, but all speed readings were 0. This would not be a problem if the plane continues flying with throttles (ATHR) at the same notch, however the auto throttle puts the throttles to max as if it were going 0 (results in over speed if I don't take control of throttles myself). It goes back to normal after 5-10min (by then it's way over approach speed). If there is anything you can think of that's causing it, like a reading in the config that must be changed, please respond.I just can't keep flying and landing safely with this glitch. Thanks
